Saturday – the Day of Rest

I dunno. I was never really that into the Old Testament. But surely any genuinely omnipotent deity would have got all the stuff done ASAP and given Himself the whole weekend off.

I’m not claiming to be either omnipotent or a deity, but I worked hard yesterday and this morning for the opportunity of a quiet afternoon in front of the football before the hectic festive season kicks off again tomorrow.

Sadly, a combination of a very dull West Ham game and a horrific new animated ad constantly in the corner of the Newcastle game have made it a bit frustrating thus far, but I’m thinking that a gammon sandwich (yes, with lashings of English mustard) and a beer in front of Liverpool v Arsenal might make everything better.

Day 366 – Lazy

I’m having a bit of a lazy day today. The kids finished school for Term 1 yesterday with excellent reports and there was literally nothing to get up early for this morning so I literally didn’t get up early. We visited a shop to look at fireplaces (here), I came home and watched some excellent rugby league (this) – I’m loving the new ESPN channels that DSTV have added – I tidied the house a bit, I played some pool, I listened to some music (this), and then I sat down here and started a blog post (this).

Other things I am going to get through this evening is a bit of football, an exploration of this website, which has taken me right back to my childhood, and the third-place playoff for this year’s Only Connect series.

Other than that, I’ve just got to put a bit more work into my Transcontinental Catapult System (TCS), which I am marketing to various shipping companies on Monday morning as a viable alternative to the Suez Canal. It’s all a bit random on the landing bit at the moment, and with shipping containers being flung a few thousand kilometres, you want to get your aim just right.

I’ll have it sorted by Sunday evening.

But first, some football (this).

Bedded

My short term fix for my impending viral infection, as described a couple of days ago, worked well at delaying the onset of that infection. But today has been spent in bed watching rugby, watching football, and dozing.
Which would have made for a wonderful, if unusual, Saturday were it not for the symptoms of the viral infection that necesitated it.
